My Story: A Personal Battle with Feminine Health
Beautifully crafted leather products.
I experienced my first menstrual cycle earlier than expected, and like many young girls, I was unprepared. Growing up with my grandmother in the Caribbean, we didn’t anticipate it arriving so soon, and I quickly learned that period pain was something women were expected to endure.
But what I experienced was beyond normal cramping. Month after month, the pain intensified, to the point where I would sit at the back of the classroom or hide in the bathroom, unable to function. Doctors dismissed my suffering, telling me it was just part of being a woman. I was prescribed 600–800mg of ibuprofen every 6–8 hours, but nothing relieved the excruciating pain.

Finding Answers and Becoming My Own Advocate
Breathtaking design for home living.
At 17 years old, after countless hospital visits, my family sought the help of a specialist. Within days, I was undergoing surgery, finally getting the medical attention I had been desperately seeking. My doctor—a woman—helped me realize the importance of advocating for my own health.
This experience shaped my passion for educating and empowering young women about their bodies. I believe every girl should have the knowledge and confidence to speak up, seek answers, and demand proper care.
